Documentation An overview of PEMDAS Touch is provided below. General Overview Entering equations To enter an equation, go into the "Keypad" tab, and simply tap the buttons on the keypad. When you want to calculate the equation, tap the "=" button. You can also manually edit the equation in the Keypad tab by tapping and holding the equation. Adding functions to the equation To add a function to the equation, tap a function in the function bar. You can view more functions by swiping across the function bar to move from page to page. Clearing the display To clear the display, tap and hold the clear button. Also note that you can double tap the clear button to clear the session. Clearing the session To clear the session, which will clear all the equations and variables, double tap the clear button. Variables To view all the defined variables you have entered, go to the "Variables" tab, where you can scroll through the variables. If you tap on a variable, it will insert it into the equation box in the Keypad view. Defining variables To define a variable, you must manually edit the equation. To do this, tap and hold on the equation box in the "Keypad" tab. When the keyboard comes up, type the name of the variable you wish to define followed by an equals sign, then type the equation. An example would be a=3+4 . When you are finished, hit the "Done" button on the keyboard, and then tap the "=" button on the keypad to define the variable. Note that if you don't assign a variable, PEMDAS automatically assigns the result of that equation a unique variable name, such as ans23. The result of the last calculation is always stored in the "ans" variable. Inserting variables into the equation To insert a variable into the equation, first go to the "Variables" tab and locate the variable you want to insert. Then tap that variable, and PEMDAS will bring you back to the Keypad view and insert the variable into the equation. Equations Viewing previous equations To view all the previous equations you have entered, go to the "Equations" tab. You can then scroll through the equations. If you tap on a equation, it will insert it into the equation box in the keypad view. Editing previous equations To edit an equation you have previously entered, go to the "Equations" tab, and tap on the equation you want to edit. This will insert it into the equation box in the "Keypad" tab. You can then tap the equation box to move the cursor around, or tap and hold to bring up the keyboard. Manually editing the equation To manually edit the equation, tap and hold the equation box. This will bring up the keyboard, and you can then enter an equation using that. When you are finished, tap the "Done" button, and then tap the "=" button to calculate the equation. Settings Setting degrees/radians To set the degrees or radians, tap the "Settings" tab, and tap the "Angular Units" box, and then change your preference to degrees or radians. Changing the number formatting To change the number formatting, "Settings" tab, then tap on the various settings in the "Number Formatting" section. You can change the formatting to Float, Scientific, or Engineering, change the number of significant figures or decimal places to be displayed, or turn thousands separators on/off. |
